Blue Wax Uniform Thickness Bolus
We offer a patient-specific radiation therapy bolus. A bolus is an important tool to bring dose towards the patient surface, but often a patient’s irregular anatomy makes it hard to eliminate air gaps using conventional flat sheet bolus materials. Tissue expanders, surgical defects, noses, and scalps are a few examples where daily reproducibility can be difficult and time-consuming.
.decimal custom boluses are precision milled from a tissue equivalent wax. The milling coordinates are derived from the external contour of the patient as provided by the treatment planning system. We are able to mill the device to the patient’s contour thus providing a snug-fitting bolus that will be the same on the first day of treatment as the last, making daily reproducibility quick and accurate.
